The world community in 2014 marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great artist and scientist Nikolai Roerich

April 15, the House of Peoples' Friendship of  Tatarstan  hosts  forum on the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great artist and scientist Nikolai Roerich.

Nikolai Konstantinovich Roerich - founder of the first international document "On  Protection of Artistic and Scientific Institutions and Historic Monuments" - Roerich Pact was  signed by representatives of several countries in Washington on April 15, 1935. In many cities around the world,  every year,   April 15  is celebrated as World Day of Culture and  protection  Sign  of   Culture - Banner of Peace is hoisted: on a white background three small   claret red circles  (past, present, future ), placed in a larger circle of eternity .

According to the program,  the  forum begins  by   opening of the exhibition of reproductions  by  Nikolai  Roerich’s paintings  and photo - art exhibition "Scent of Genesis. At  places of  Roerichs " of  Naily  Abdulmanova. Then,  a conference " Roerich and culture"   is to be held.   Among the measures,   the participants will also see  an exhibition of paintings by artist from  Buryatia  Shirap Dorzhiev  that are written in an unusual style close to the style of the French impressionists , but with ethnic nuances. A concert  featured  by  Indian dance ensemble of the Center for Cultural Relations of Tatarstan - India and Buryat artists   is expected likewise.

The forum   will  bring together  scientists and students, pupils  and teachers, public and state figures.

Initiator and main organizer of the celebration is the Kazan Society Roerich with the support and participation of:  RT Ministry of culture,  RT Ministry of education and science, Kazan Federal University, Institute of international relations, history and oriental studies (KSU),  RT Institute for education development,  Assembly of peoples of Tatarstan, Friendship House of  peoples of Tatarstan,  National museum  of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University, Academic Lyceum n.a. N.I. Lobachevsky.

The forum will last from 9.00 to 17.00 at  the assembly hall of the House of Peoples' Friendship  of Tatarstan.
