The IX Contest and Festival of ensembles and orchestras of folk instruments "Folk Melodies" to be held at G. Tukai Tatar Philharmonic

April 7-8, 2014, The  IX Contest and Festival ensembles and orchestras of folk instruments "Folk melodies" will be held at the G. Tukai Tatar State Philharmonic. Initiator of  the creation and holding  the festival - People's Artist of Russia, a laureate of the G.Tukai State Award, professor, academician of Petrovsky Academy of Arts and Sciences Anatoly Ivanovich Shutikov.

The festival was founded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the G.Tukai Tatar State Philharmonic.

Every year the geography of the participants  is extended. At this year's festival-competition received applications from groups of Udmurtia, Mari El, Chuvashia, Bashkortostan , Samara and Sverdlovsk regions. Also,  not left side,   the cities  of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Tchistopol,  Yelabuga, Almetyevsk,  Zainsk , Aznakaevo et al. Total - more than 40 ensembles and orchestras.

The jury of the festival - musicians and Peaple’s and Honored  artists of Russia, teachers and orchestra conductors.

April 7 - Listening ensembles.

April 8 – Listening the orchestras. At the end of the second day,   performance by the RT State Orchestra of Folk Instruments  under direction of    Anatoly Shutikov.
