Today, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Sibagatullin  spoke  at the forty- ninth meeting of the State Council of Tatarstan within the "government hour" with information about the prospects of cultural development in the Republic of Tatarstan in the framework of the Year of Culture,

Head of the ministry began his report with the words of the President,  sounded  in his address  to  RT State Council: "Culture - one of the most important resources to strengthen the state and civil society. This is a spiritual foundation of ongoing reforms in the country".

2014 promises to be a rich variety of activities and will be a milestone for  cultural industries. For example, Kazan declared cultural capital of the Turkic world. Tomorrow, as the minister told, in Eskisehir flag handover ceremony of the cultural capital is to be held. Long-term government programs - "Cultural development in the Republic of Tatarstan", "Implementation of the state national policy in the Republic of Tatarstan" and "Preservation of national identity of the Tatar people" have been adopted.

The Minister noted that the work on the preservation of historical and cultural heritage keeps going. On January 1, 2014, the network of cultural institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan included 3893 network units.

Airat Sibagatullin said that over the last 3 years   8 times increased   number of objects, which completed restoration works. So, in preparation for the Universiade 2013, in Kazan, works on restoration of 92 objects of cultural heritage have been done, 285 valuable objects of environment restored. It is planned that in conjunction with the heads of municipalities will continue to attract private investment in the restoration of cultural heritage, as well as disclosure of the tourist potential of the territories.

In 2014, the museum " Kazan Kremlin" , which is the object of protection of UNESCO  is celebrating its twentieth anniversary.

In June 2014, Qatar World Heritage Committee will consider the inclusion of the ancient Bolgar  in the World Heritage List of UNESCO. In a high degree of readiness is Sviyazhsk materials. This is largely made ​​possible by the implementation of a comprehensive project - Bolgar Svijazhsk. Implementation of project activities extended for another two years.

"It's not only the prestige of Tatarstan and Russia as a whole. It is a resource for improving the tourist attractiveness of our republic," - he said.

Speaking about the development of the museum network of the Republic , the Minister said about the need to develop mechanisms to attract extra-budgetary funds for the organization of large-scale projects and invited the deputies to join the boards of trustees of museums in the country.

One of the main issues in his opinion, is the preservation of museum collections. Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan  drafted  informatization program of  museums and preservation of the Museum Fund. Instruction  to begin in 2014  the implementation of the program was given by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on the results of the expanded board of the ministry. Moreover, as  Airat Sibagatullin   noted , Tatarstan President instructed to hold   in 2014 overhaul and reconstruction of buildings and the G.Tukai  Museum,   depository building of the National Museum .

Minister spoke in detail about the important components of the cultural sphere - the development of theaters, the film industry , libraries, clubs , art schools in the country.

According to the minister , in 2014 delivered big problem . Orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan approved plans for the Year of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the project " Kazan - the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2014 ."

In order to support the size of the creative intelligentsia State Prize G. Tukai increased to 500,000.

"So , along with saturated event- calendar,  the ministry is aimed  in their plans for 2014 aimed at pursuing a  meaningful state cultural policy , with clear principles and clear benchmarks " -  concluded his speech  the Minister of Culture.

Airat Sibagatullin then answered questions from MPs. Parliamentarians interested in opening theaters in Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatar Diaspora support, development of rural clubs, competitions  of Tatar prose,  erecting monument to the famous Tatar composer Sarah Sadykova and other issues.
