February 20, at 4 PM, at the Gallery of Contemporary Art of  RT State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan, a photo exhibition «Mirror of the Soul»  opens

In Kazan, in the 70-ies of the last century, its own school of photography was formed that had been  recognized not only in the USSR but also abroad.

The exhibition provides an opportunity to see the result of creativity by enthusiastic people, having made a lucky shot to be a meaning of life. The exhibition reflects the feelings, emotions, moods, characters, time itself. Hence the title of the exhibition – «Mirror of the Soul».

Half a century ago, when Vitaly Kovalevsky created a photo studio at  the Palace of Culture in  Derbyshki settlement, he could not have imagined that photography  would  involve most of his disciples  in its world  forever. Some of them will choose the photos as a profession, for others it will be an invaluable enthusiasm.

In 1980, the studio was awarded the title "People's collective”, in recognition of merits of its founder - leader and his disciples.

Nowadays, the disciples of Vitaly Kovalevsky continue his life's work . Studio named "Kazan" is led by Sultan Iskhakov, who together with other like-minded pupils and co-thinkers of Kovalevsky manages to keep the spirit of the original studio. And today, the main for the Studio members is the opening beauty of the world and the people who live nearby. In his works, photographers talk about the very near and dear. This is the secret of nationality studio.

The works by representatives of studio «Kazan» have been awarded diplomas of international exhibitions in Bulgaria, Latvia, Czechoslovakia, Spain.

The exhibition presents about a hundred works.

The exhibition lasts till March 20.
