The final gala concert in Kazan featured by opera stars has concluded the XXXII F.I. Shalyapin International Opera Festival.
F.I.Shalyapin Opera Festival was held on the scene of the M.Jalil Tatar Academic Theatre from February 2 to 18. This year, a music forum was dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the Kazan Opera.
The program included 10 performances and two gala concerts featured by guest artists from 10 countries. By tradition, the festival opened with a premiere - this season, it was "Barber of Seville" by J. Rossini, directed by famous director, People's Artist of Russia Yuri Alexandrov (St. Petersburg ). Set design for the play created a Moscow artist Victor Gerasimenko . Music director and conductor was performed by the Italian maestro Marco Boemi. The same composition, last season, at Shaliapin festival this team staged "Aida" by J. Verdi.
