The 180th anniversary of Mendeleev

January 27,  ( February 8), 2014,  marks the 180th anniversary of the birth of Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev - Russian scholar and  chemist,  meteorologist,  teacher,  balloonist, instrument maker. Professor of   St. Petersburg University, Corresponding Member of the category  "physical"   of Imperial St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences.

Among the most famous discoveries of the scientist - the Periodic law of chemical elements, one of the fundamental laws of the universe,  essential for all science.

The event held by employees of the department of exhibitions and cultural programs for students of the Lyceum Library number 121  was devoted to this important date. During a fascinating story,   the children not only learned  interesting facts about the life of the great scientist, but also had the opportunity to listen to the explanation of the periodic table of chemical elements in an accessible and entertaining way, the press service RT NL informs.
