Denis Osokin received «White Elephant» for the script «Heavenly wives of Meadow Mari»

The film «Heavenly wives of  Meadow Mari» shot under  the script written by a famous writer and poet of  Kazan  Denis  Osokin has been awarded  «White Elephant»  in several categories by  Russian Film Critics Guild.

The sixteenth time Russian Guild of Film Critics chose the laureates «White Elephant». The writer Denis Osokin has been awarded Prize for the best screenplay. The same film won the awards for Best Cinematography by Shandor Berkeshi and the work of painters by Artyom Khabibullin and Zorikto    Dorzhieva.

  A school drama «Geographer drank away globe» by Alexander Veledinsky   has won in a category «Best Film».  It prevailed over rivals like «Eternal return» by Kira Muratova and «Heavenly wives of Meadow Mari» by Alexei Fedorchenko.

Kira Muratova was recognized as the best director - among her competitors,  in this category there were Alexandr Veledinsky Alexander (Geographer drank away  globe) and Yusuf Razykov (Shame ). She also received the award of Young Critics 'Voice' as the author of the best film (Eternal return).

Best recognized in playing the main roles in the movie «The Geographer drank away» appeared to be  Elena Lyadova and Konstantin Kahbensky, out of the  secondary  roles  best were recognized the works   of  Julia  Aug  «Intimate places» and Evgeniy  Tkachuk  in  «Winter Road».

«Winter Journey» by Sergei Taramaev and  Lyubov L’vova is recognized as the best debut – it gained  victory over  debutants   Natalia  Merkurova and Alexei Chupov («Intimate place»), Dmitry Tyurin («Thirst») and Jora Kryuzhovnikov («Gor’ko»).

As the best documentary «Blood» by Alina Rudnytska was  recognized , the best animation – «Immortal» by Mikhail Aldashin. Among the animators debutants  Roman Sokolov («Friends»).

Among the composers Eduard Artemyev, he wrote the music for the film «The Legend of number 17”.

The film of   recently passed away Alexei Herman, «It's hard to be a god» was removed from all nominations and won awards named  after  Miron Chernenko and «Event of the Year», according to «Rossiyskaya Gazeta».
