Opera «Porgy and Bess» in concert performance presented on stage of M. Jalil Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre

Yesterday, February 5, on the scene of the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre after M.Jalil, a premiere of the opera «Porgy and Bess» in the XXXII International Opera Festival named after Shaliapin took place.

Parties this evening were performed by great artists from different countries: Terry Cook from Germany as Porgy, Lakit Mitchell of the United States in the role of Bess, her compatriot Neil Nelson as Jack, Ronald Sammi from Britain, he sang Sporting Life, Santa Alexei from Moscow played Crown. The role of Clara was performed by Melba Ramos from Austria, Sirin - Anna  Keit from Moscow, and Mary - Artist of the Moscow Novaya Opera after E.V.Kolobova, Alexandra Saulsky - Shulyatieva.

Spectators took this fine performance, and long after its  ending  expressed  a standing ovation, not letting  the  artists from the scene and endowing them armfuls of flowers.

The next item on the program of Shaliapin’s Festival 2014 will be the «Aida» by Jiuseppe Verdi .
