From December 16 to 22 the V International festival of young Tatar directorship «Remeslo+» to be held in Kazan

From December 16 to 22, the V International festival of young Tatar directorship «Remeslo+ (Craft)»  will be held in Kazan. This year's festival will be in a larger format called «Remeslo +». The details of the festival were told reporters today at a press conference held in the G. Kamal  Tatar State Academic Theater.

As artistic director and  director's lab, Kamal chief director Farid Bikchantaev told  that   the  name «Remeslo+” means that  stage performances of young theater directors this year would be enriched by director’s laboratory headed by Oleg Loiev. Such projects, experiments have long existed in Russian theaters, but in Kazan, laboratory of Oleg Loiev will pass for the first time. 4 directors  from  St. Petersburg, Moscow, Glazov and Eltz  will take part in director’s lab. Of the 160 proposed plays, 4  were sorted out, on the basis of which to create sketches of  performances. All of them have been translated into Tatar language. They are united by one theme - the loss of roots and their search.

In the main program of the festival «Remeslo +» 10 performances will be shown and one sketch. Besides Russian theaters, this year, a theater of Kazakhstan will attend the festival. For this reason, the festival has gained international status.

Theater critic, coordinator of the laboratory director «Remeslo+» Niaz  iglamov  said that the festival is  an international one  still also  because Estonian and Irish playwrights  are  interested in this project. The fact that their play will participate in the lab, is a significant event in their work. Themes of their plays are actual to the peoples of Tatarstan.
