A solo exhibition of Naila Kumysnikova "Leather mosaic. Theatre. Painting held in a Manezh exhibition hall

November 21, a solo exhibition of Naila Kumysnikova titled Leather mosaic. Theatre. Painting. was  held   in the Exhibition Hall Manezh.

Naila Kumysnikova – designer,  painter of  arts and crafts,  a member of the Artists' Union, a laureate  of the B.Urmanche award  of RT Ministry of Culture,  RT Honored Artist. Her  career began as a  designer, creating original scenery for theaters of  Kazan and Tatarstan to many famous productions.

However,  particularly, a  bright talent of hers  was in contact with the Tatar national culture. In XX century, the Tatars began to lose awareness of their cultural identity, the only prospect was an appeal of artists - including Kumysnikova,  to   traditional ornaments, materials and forms. The tradition of making patterned leather shoes is unique, inherent exclusively  to Tatar culture and has been famous throughout Russia. Thanks to artists such as Naila Kumysnikova,  reviving of  national production of shoes and accessories and interior leather mosaic technique takes place.

N. Kumysnikova today - one of the leading professional artists in the field of leather mosaics, her works have been highly appreciated by specialists, successfully exhibited at the Russian and international exhibitions. They  are marked by originality and exquisite forms, high level of performance. She  uses  technique of mosaic in contemporary leather clothing and accessories, applying  bright and harmonious combination of colors in the ornamental compositions of stylized vegetal and zoomorphic figures.
