Films of young Tatarstan directors enter program of IX Kazan cinema festival

Forming contest program of IX Kazan international festival of Muslim cinema keeps going. Final list of film-participants will be announced on August, however, it is already known that short list includes several works by young Tatarstan directors,  at that the republic will be strongly presented as in a traditional documentary genre so in a fiction film.

«This year we have obtained many good films shot by young professionals and it cannot but delight us, - clears artistic director of  IX KMFMC Albina Nafigova. – In particular, there are many fiction short length. «Short length» in worlds and Russian distribution- it is a trend, quite successful in focus of viewer’s attention and correspondingly in a sales statistics. I would say that  «short length»  - this is an organic  respond to dynamics, rhythm of time and nostalgia demand of viewer  in short-story.        This is a special format – delicate, awesome, emotional...

Now we see its filling and with participation of young cinematography, «ours» in all senses of this word  - close by mentality and geography. Not insignificant that the republic appeared to be  «in trend» of all-European stream: young Tatarstan directors shoot fully featured fiction short-length cinema, worth to compete according to international standards. It is worth special  mentioning short-length films  «End of the game» by Maxim Shvachko and  «Elka» by Renat Khabibullin. I think that these films will among real contenders for victory in the festival».
