The 3d International festival «White lilac» will be held during the days of World Universiade in Kazan

Dates of holding  «White lilac» were purposely transferred on days of  XXVII World Universiade.   Artistic  director of the festival Alexandr Sladkovsky is going to present  a Russian classic to the audience. By tradition,  the pianists  from   various   countries have been invited    to Kazan. First time, in the festival, besides works by Rakhmaninov, music of Scryabin  and Borodin will sound.    The festival is included in program of celebrating jubilee of Sergei Rakhmaninov, in the context of which the concerts round the world are taking place. 

The  «White lilac»  opens on July 6  by concert of RT State symphonic orchestra and People’s artiste of Russia Denis Matzuev.  For an evening, on July  10,  maestro  Sladkosky  will give up his place at the conductor’s stand to USSR people’s artist, artistic director   and chief conductor of Big symphonic  orchestra named after P.I. Chaikovsky   Vladimir  Fedoseev. A famous conductor – one of the honorary guests of the festival.  At the piano  – a laureate of international contests  Andrei Korobeinikov.

On July 13, on day of the festival closing, RT State symphonic orchestra  will present  a prominent British pianist Frederik Kempf  to the public. He will perform  the Fourth concert by Rakhmaninov. The public will see also a premiere -debut of RT  Youth symphonic orchestra, which  has  united students of Kazan music schools. Children will perform  Vocalize  by Rakhmaninov and romance by Yakhin «To forget impossible».  

The audience will estimate also new acquisition  by orchestra  – old instruments from Italian Cremona. We remind that  three violins and one double-bass  – all instruments of  XVIII – XIX  centuries were brought to Kazan  recently.  

The festival  «White lilac»  is a participant of Cultural program of the Universiade - 2013 and  Cultural Olympiade - 2014, RT SSO press service informs.
