International organization of Turkic culture published a special issue of magazine TYURKSOI dedicated to Tatarstan, jointly prepared with RT Ministry of culture
The Republic of Tatarstan – one of the subjects of the Russian Federation, being an active member-observer of International organization of Turkic culture. 41st issue of the magazine TYURKSOI contains materials about cultural policy in the sphere of culture and art, reports and interview, analytical articles and sketches.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov shared out his vision in an interview to the magazine on perspectives of cultural cooperation. We remind that during his visit to head office of TYURKSOI in May 2012, he offered to announce Kazan a Cultural capital of Turkic world in year 2014. First President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev told in detail on the pages of magazine about the experience of implementing Complex project «Ancient Bolgar and island - town Sviyazhsk». Interview of Tatarstan minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin is dealing with cultural traditions of Kazan, its historical connections with Turkic world.
The outcomes of Gabdulla Tukai Year (2011) have proved again that creativity of the great poet, as usual, is close to all Turkic nations. Special materials of the issue contains analysis of year’s results and tells about Days of Tatarstan culture in Turkey, having become traditional ones.
Thematic range of special issue is broad and reflects ,diversity of the republic’s culture.
Nauruz and Sabantui – ancient folk festive, whose roots lie deep in history Turkic nations. Nauruz in Tatarstan – this is, first of all, international festival and forum of Turkic language theatres, review of which is written by a theatrical critic Niyaz Iglamov. Material of ethnographer Raufa Urazmanova allows to look at the history of Sabantui, to value its meaning for contemporary culture of Tatars .
The most important element of national culture is cuisine. Among the well-known to all Turkic world Tatar dishes, a special place belongs to «belish». About « crown of Tatar cuisine», which symbolizes prosperity, welfare, accord in people, tells KFU docent Raushaniya Nurmukhametova.
The special issue has been published in Turkish, Russian and English languages, contains 104 pages, over 80 illustrations, TYURKSOI representative Lilia Sattarova informs.
