Presentation of catalogue «Gardens and parks of Kazan» to be held in Winter garden of RT National museum

Within a Year of ecological culture and environment protection in Tatarstan and European day of parks,  which is traditionally marked on May 24, 2013, a presentation of catalogue «Gardens and parks  of Kazan»   is to take place at 2 pm in a Winter garden of RT National  museum.    

First time,  this day  became a festive  in  1999 and is connected  with  the fact that namely May 24 in Europe first National parks were created – these were nine National parks founded in Sweden. Since that protected natural territories have turned into invaluable part of natural and cultural heritage of Europe.  

In the run-up to the World Universiade,  with an aim of reviving traditions of Kazan city greening, under support of mayor’s office the projects «100 garden squares»  and «Green record» are being realized. In the wake of these projects,  many  garden squares, green zones of house adjacent territories   have been already beautified, thousand trees have been planted.

RT National museum  brings its contribution in reviving and preserving  traditions  of beatification of the capital. In  2011, its project    «Gardens and parks of Kazan» became a winner in nomination  «Ecology» in  II contest of social and cultural projects of «RITEK» oil company in Tatarstan. Within a project,  the catalogue of a unique collection of photo materials of the end of XIX-XX  centuries withy sights of gardens and parks of Kazan  has been prepared.

Kazan was famous  by its parks and garden squares featured by natural original beauty,  even now, are  the decorations of the city.  Many of them were created at the end of  XIX – beginning  XX  century  - «Black lake», garden «Hermitage», «Lyadsky sadik», «Russkaya Switzerland», M. Gorky Central park of culture and rest and other.

This edition makes possible for residents and guests of Kazan get acquainted with natural-historic heritage of the city. The catalogue presents information about gardens and parks,  and over 200 photos.
