On June 1, 2021, after an illness, in the 66th year, the artist-painter, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Honored Worker of Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan, member of the Union of Artists of Tatarstan RO VTOO "Union of Artists of Russia" Alexander Sergeevich Fedotov died.
Fedotov Alexander Sergeevich was born on January 25, 1955 in the city of Võru, Estonian SSR. Graduated from the Ryazan Art School (1975), the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. V.I. Surikov, the workshop of professor Mochalsky D.K. (1983) and a creative workshop at the Academy of Arts in Kazan under the direction of Yakupov Haris Abdrakhmanovich (1986).
A.S. Fedotov was one of the artists whose works are distinguished by spiritual fullness, emotional wealth, and depth of comprehension of nature. The best works of the master received wide public recognition, organically entered the expositions of art museums, galleries and exhibitions, in a concentrated form reflecting the artist's aesthetic ideas of today. In his work, the artist acted as a successor to the traditions of Russian painting, such masters of the Russian landscape as A.K. Savrasov, A.I. Kuindzhi, N.P. Krymov.
Alexander Fedotov was one of the leading landscape painters of the Republic of Tatarstan, his work is widely known in the Russian Federation. The artist's creative achievements have made a worthy contribution to the visual arts, enriching the treasury of artistic culture with original, vivid works.
For more than three decades, the artist has been a participant in republican, regional, all-Russian exhibitions, at which his works have invariably enjoyed well-deserved success among the audience, the artistic community and critics.
