It is planned to release short films made in the framework of the Tatarstan project "Cinema for  7 Days" in Russian cinemas. Milyausha Aituganova, director of the State Budgetary Institution of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan "Tatarkino", said this at a press conference devoted to the rental of the almanac "Cinema for  7 Days" in the Republic of Tatarstan and Russia.

“This is the first rental that we, together with the international company Kinolife, want to hold both in Tatarstan and Russia,” said Milyausha Aituganova.

In Tatarstan, the rental will be run by Tatarkino. The almanac will be screened in 19 municipal cinema venues and 10 cinemas.

“All those who come to the cinemas [to view the almanac] will be able to see Kazan and the Laishevsky district, seemingly familiar locations, from a completely different perspective,” said Minister of Culture Irada Ayupova.

The selection includes 10 short films that were shot by young professional teams from different countries in Tatarstan. Directors from Russia, Europe, Iran, China, Mongolia created their works within 7 days.

“The Cinema for  7 Days project itself is very interesting, and in 2019 we all empathized with the participants and lived with them for 7 shooting days. It would seem that 7 days is both a lot and a little, but during this time it is possible to create a film for 7 minutes, ”noted the First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Yulia Adgamova.

Among the films are the films "Hunger Strike" by Tatyana Zhukova, "Futurum" by Georgy Danilyants, "Letters to Platonov" by Normand Bertrand, "Return to Kazan" by Gaside Golmakani and others.

The short films of the anthology have already taken part in the international festival of short films in Tampere and at the festival "Window to Europe".

The almanac "Cinema for  7 Days" will be widely released on May 27. And already on June 3, the almanac will be released in Russia.

The project has been  initiated by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2019.
