All-Russian festival of children's theater groups "GENERATION NEXT" will be held in Kazan
The Kazan Youth Theater from 6 to 10 September 2021 will host the All-Russian Festival of Children's Theater Groups "GENERATION NEXT" with the support of Ministry of Culture of Russia and Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan. Children's theater groups and inclusive creative associations with performances of all genres are invited to participate. The festival program will include master classes and trainings from the best specialists in the field of theatrical art.
The expert council will pick out the 10 best performances - nominees, and then 4 performances - the finalists in the categories of primary school age (7-10 years old), mixed group or middle school age (11-13 years old), senior group (14-18 years old), best inclusive performance (age restrictions on the composition of participants from 7 to 18 years old). Based on the results of viewing and discussing the performances, the jury will determine the laureates of the festival in the nominations: "Best Directing of a Performance", "Best Actor", "Best Actress", "Best Actor's Ensemble", "Best Set Design".

The first festival of children's theater groups "Generation NEXT" was held at the Kazan Youth Theater in 2019. About 30 groups and 600 young artists from all over Tatarstan took part in it. After the festival, the organizers decided to hold an educational forum alternating with the festival in order to improve the professional level of leaders and teachers of children's theater groups. The forum was scheduled for the spring of 2020, but due to the epidemiological situation, it was moved online. In total, the forum was attended by about 300 people from 30 regions of Russia and 5 countries of the world.
