Guzel Yakhina personally presents her new book "Echelon to Samarkand" to the citizens of Kazan. Creative meetings will take place in the Aksenov House, in the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Museum-Reserve "Island-City Sviyazhsk".
A new novel by Guzel Yakhina, author of the bestselling books Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes and My Children, was released in early March. The action of the book "Echelon to Samarkand" takes place in 1923, during a famine in the Volga region, in one of the "trains of Dzerzhinsky", on which 500 street children are evacuated to a more prosperous region in order to save them from death. The writer defines the genre of the book as "red Eastern" and warns that it includes several little-known facts about Kazan.
In the capital of Tatarstan, Guzel Yakhina will meet with readers on May 5 at 18:00 at the Aksenov House. Those wishing to attend the presentation need to sign up by phone: +7 (843) 238-62-32. The writer will talk about how the book was created, answer questions and sign autographs.
The next day, May 6, at 19:00, the creative meeting will be held at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan at the address: Pushkin St., 86.
