April 23-25, within a framework of IX International festival of Tatar song named after Rashit Vagapov contest of young performers of Tatar song is held.
The founders of festival are RT Ministry of culture and RT Public fund of Tatar culture after Rashit Vagapov.
Chief of and author of the festival’s project - deserved figure of Russia and Tatarstan, a laureate of the Musa Jalil republican award Rifat Fattakhov.
Rashit Vagapov (1908-1962) – one of the founders of Tatar professional variety, people’s artiste of the Republic Tatasrtan.
Festival was established in 2004, aimed at development of Tatar culture, high performance art, eternalizing memory of Rashit Vagapov, preserving and multiplying common cultural heritage, satisfaction of spiritual needs of compatriots, opening and support of young talents, development of interregional cultural and interethnic accord.
Festival named after Rashit Vagapov, having started in Tatarstan, overstepped national scales, became an event of international level, uniting people and folks, strengthening interethnic relations and promoting intercultural mutual enrichment of nations of Russia and the world, opening new bright names. For these years, concerts of Vagapov’s festival took place with a great success in many cities of Russia, near and far abroad: (Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Cheboksary, Izhevsk, Ulyanovsk, Perm, Samara, Orenburg and others), Finland (Helsinki ), Kazakhstan (Semipalatinsk), Germany (Berlin), Latvia (Riga), Poland (Gdansk), Ukraine(Kiev), Estonia (Tallinn ), Sweden (Stockholm), China (Urumchi), USA (San-Francisco ).
Laureates of the contest are Filyus Kagirov (grand-prix), Rustem Asaev, Aigul Sagynbaeva, Aigul Hairi, Artur Islamov, Ilyusa Huzina, Marsel Vagizov, Sirina Zainetdinova, Rishat Tikhvatullin, who for present day have already become leading performers of the republic.
This year festival is held under support of RT President R.N. Minnikhanov and dedicated to 105th anniversary of Rashit Vagapov(May 7).
April 23-25, 2013, with a purpose of searching, discovering and support of new talents in the sphere of folk song, classic music, a contest of young performers of Tatar song is held within the festival in S Saidash SGCH.
May 15, a Gala-concert of the festival will be held in S. Saidash SGCH.
May 23, a solemn concert of the festival will take place on the motherland of Rashit Vagapov, in a village Urazovka Nizhgorodsky oblast.
April 25, at 11p.m. a press-conference, dedicated to IX International festival of Tatar song after Rashit Vagapov will be held at the RT Ministry of culture.
