On February 20 at 14.00 in the Exhibition Hall of the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve there will be an opening of the exhibition "Land of Legends" from the funds of the Sarapul Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve (Sarapul, Udmurt Republic).
This project aims to reveal to a wide range of visitors the ethnic heritage of the peoples of the Kama region and Udmurtia, who are prominent representatives of multinational Russia.
The exhibition will acquaint with the life and culture of Russians, Tatars, Bashkirs, Udmurts, Mari. The exposition consists of five sections, which showcase about 350 exhibits. These are traditional jewelry, musical instruments, national costumes, clothing and household items, home furnishings of the 19th - mid-20th centuries, tools, model reconstruction of a dwelling, as well as books, photographs and much more.
The graphic works by the Soviet artist Nikolai Kosolapov (1899-1974) with genre scenes from everyday peasant life will be a harmonious addition to the exhibition.
Udmurtia and Tatarstan are territories where many peoples have been living in dialogue and cooperation for a long time. Elabuga and Sarapul play a special role in the socio-economic and national-cultural development of these regions - two district trade and industrial centers of the Vyatka province, which are linked by famous personalities and events, family and business traditions. In 2018, the cities signed an agreement on cooperation in various fields and fields of activity.
The exhibition is open: from February 20 to March 21, 2021.
