From February 20 to April 4, the "Stereo-Kazan" exhibition will be held at the Hermitage-Kazan Center. The project demonstrates original volumetric photographs with views of the city at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. All old photographs are accompanied by new stereo images taken from the same points in 2020. Thus, you can see the old view of the city streets by comparing it with the photographs of the 21st century. The exhibition features over 130 photographs.
Visitors will be able to view old photographs in 3D using modern stereoscopes and feel the effect of presence. This is much more interesting than flat photographs in frames. The organizers set themselves the goal of disseminating information about the history of Kazan, shown in an entertaining way.
The exhibition also features about 40 ancient optical instruments, with the help of which these images were created and viewed more than 100 years ago. These are stereoscopes, taxiphots, stereo glasses and 3d cameras. The collection of the devices belongs to Maxim Vasiliev from Kazan, and historical photographs were provided by the collector Iskander Gabdrakhmanovich Kamal.
Supported by the Presidential Grants Foundation. Entrance to the exhibition is free for all visitors.
