The oldest professor of the Kazan Conservatory Irina Dubinina died

12 January 2021, Tuesday

Irina Sergeevna Dubinina, a legendary teacher, one of the oldest professors of the Kazan State Conservatory named after N.G. Zhiganov, Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan, Candidate of Art History, holder of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, 2nd degree, passed away.

Irina Sergeevna received an excellent education, graduating from the Moscow Conservatory and graduate school, where her mentors were the famous teachers Yakov Zak and Lev Oborin. Largely thanks to her work, the best traditions of the Russian pianistic school were absorbed and preserved at the Kazan Conservatory.

Irina Sergeevna devoted her entire life to the conservatory, having devoted 70 years to teaching - there was always only one job in her work book. For more than 25 years, the pianist headed the department of special piano, performed over 100 solo programs, and trained over 120 graduates.

Among her pupils at the Conservatory and the Secondary Special Music School are Y. Yegorov, L. Kazachkova, M. Sukharenko, G. Abdullina, A. Mikhailov, S. Fedoseeva, D. Galeeva, O. Stepanova, M. Mikhailova and many others. Her students continue their performing activities, teaching at music colleges and conservatories in Russia and abroad.

Colleagues and students invariably noted her warmth, sincerity, benevolence, tactful and delicate attitude towards everyone without exception. Elegant, light, fragile, Irina Sergeevna has always been an example to follow. Her very presence made any event special - be it a class concert or a conversation between teachers at the department.

The departure of Irina Sergeevna is an irreplaceable loss for everyone at the Kazan Conservatory and, without a doubt, for the national musical culture.

The collective deeply grieves and expresses sincere condolences to the relatives and students of Irina Sergeevna Dubinina.

The farewell time will be specified later.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan brings its deepest condolences to colleagues and relatives of Irina Dubinina.
