Kazan Tatar State Theater for Young Spectators named after G. Kariev will show a new premiere
Dear journalists, on December 12 at 18:00 Kazan Tatar State Theater for Young Spectators named after G. Kariev will show the fourth premiere of the 33rd season - the play "VOLZHSKAYA".
The author of the production, timed specifically to the anniversary of the People's Artist of the Republic of TatarstanKhalidaSungatullina, is the laureate of the M. Kashgari International Prize, writer AigulAkhmetgalieva. The director is RenatAyupov, Honored Artist of Russia, Honored Art Worker of Tatarstan.
RenatAyupov: “I had a dream for a long time to stage a play about one of the founders of the Tatar theater - SahibzhamalGizzatullina-Volzhskaya. In 2016, AigulAkhmetgalieva's novel "Tutash" was published, written by order of the Writers' Union of Tatarstan. When I read the novel, I literally fell in love with it. This is a work that describes the life of an actress. Later, at my request, the author wrote the play "Volzhskaya" ("Yaratyptuyalmadym") for our theater, dedicated to the last years of the heroine's life. As you know, SakhibzhamalVolzhskaya, who created classical theatrical images, became the founder of the Nurtheater in Ufa. It is therefore quite symbolic that the premiere coincided with anniversary of the actress KhalidaSungatullina, who was at the origin of our theater. Volzhskaya is her benefit performance. The audience will get acquainted with truly extraordinary personalities. "
Archival documents and historical sources related to the last years of the actress's life, which she, as you know, spent in the Tchistopolpsychoneurological boarding school, laid down in the pine play. Women's loneliness, a hard struggle with illness and a dream realized within the walls of a boarding school - this is what RenatAyupov's melodrama is about. Whether his heroine will bring a feeling of pity or, conversely, pride, is up to the viewer.
The play's designer is BulatGilvanov, laureate of the B. Urmanche and M. Jalil awards.
