Graduates of the School of Heritage - 2020   have been  awarded in Kazan

A ceremony of awarding certificates to graduates of the Heritage School - 2020 took place in Kazan.

For the fifth year in a row, the Tom Sawyer Fest volunteer festival has started, and dozens of caring townspeople pick up saws, brushes, a grinder and begin restoration work on buildings in the center of Kazan. To facilitate the work of volunteers, the “Heritage Volunteers School” started working in Kazan last year.

The other day, certificates were awarded to school graduates, letters of thanks to coordinators, teachers and partners, as well as diplomas were awarded to the best volunteers of this year.

Heritage Volunteer School is a training course for all those who are not indifferent to the history of their country.

The course consists of theoretical and practical parts.

The theoretical part is related to the concept of cultural heritage, the principles of restoration and restoration; the concept of volunteerism as such, its principles and position in society; the concept of normative and international practice for the preservation of cultural heritage and for volunteering. The lecturers will be architects, restoration specialists with practical experience of working on cultural heritage sites, project management, practicing archaeologists, as well as specialists with experience in managing non-profit associations and in the field of culture.

The practical part is aimed at developing  skills and abilities of working in restoration workshops with stone, wood and metal. Students will get acquainted with the principles and processes of restoration of cultural heritage objects, the main aspects of the methodology of work, practical techniques. Acting restorers working in the field of cultural heritage preservation will share their experience and practical techniques.
