The Museum of Islamic Culture will host the opening of the exhibition "Tatars of Siberia: Relics and Collections"

The exhibition will be open to visitors from November 21.

The exhibition presents a traditional costume of Siberian Tatars, jewelry, photographic documents reflecting the ethnic characteristics of the Tatars living in the Tyumen region. Etchings from the funds of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve, created by the engraver Emelyan Korneev in 1808, illustrate the uniqueness of the types of Siberian Tatars, their costumes, jewelry and everyday life.

The main exhibit of the exhibition is the hair from the beard of the Prophet Muhammad - a Muslim relic kept in the Tyumen Museum for almost a hundred years.

A special place in the exhibition is occupied by manuscripts and printed books of the late 17th - early 20th centuries in Arabic, Persian, Ottoman and Old Tatar languages.

The exhibition will run until February 10, 2021.
