November 5 at the National Art Gallery "Khazine" of the Pushkin Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan (museum complex "Khazine", Kazan Kremlin) at 16:00 will open the sixth interregional academic exhibition-competition "RED GATE / AGAINST THE CURRENT-2020". Round table with the participation of the media on November 5 at 15:00.
The State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan takes over the baton of the academic project. In 2020, the Sixth Interregional Academic Exhibition-Competition "Red Gates / Against the Current" was first launched in Moscow. The grand opening took place on July 30, 2020 in the hall of the Moscow Union of Artists. On the same day, meetings of the Expert Council and the jury were held, as well as a round table dedicated to the opening of the exhibition project. Further, the traveling exhibition was presented in the cities of the Volga region: Saratov (September 3-17), Tolyatti (September 24 - October 7), Saransk (October 14-27).
"Krasnye Vorota" is a project of the Volga branch of the Russian Academy of Arts, carried out once every two years. The goal of the long-term competition and exhibition project is to display the diversity of the surrounding world through the works of artists of the early XXI century, the study of the modern art process. The project manager is Konstantin Khudyakov, vice-president of the Russian Academy of Arts, chairman of the Volga branch of the Russian Academy of Arts, president of the Creative Union of Russian Artists.
In 2020, the authors created works on the basis of ten object themes: "Mechanisms and devices", "Weapons", "Toys and dolls", "Wheel", "Means of movement", "House", "City", "Interior", Reflections, Wings. The competition was attended by representatives from 20 regions of Russia.
More than 30 Tatarstan artists are participating in the project, four of them in 2020 became laureates of the N.I. Feshin Prize, established by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in collaboration with the Russian Academy of Arts in order to support talented authors in the field of contemporary visual arts.
Within the framework of the exhibition in the National Art Gallery "Khazine", the Pushkin Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, awards in the field of fine arts named after NI Feshin will be awarded to the laureates of the competition: Vladimir Akimov, Vera Karaseva, Rustem Khuzin, Grigory Eydinov.
