Georgy Kovtun's Golden Horde will be shown in Kazan
Tomorrow, the ballet "Golden Horde" to the music of Reseda Akhiyarova will be shown on the stage of the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil. The performance is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, choreographer Georgy Kovtun.
The ballet Golden Horde to music by Reseda Akhiyarova and libretto by Renat Haris was commissioned by the theater and premiered in 2013. The choreographer of the performance was Georgy Kovtun (St. Petersburg), whose name is well known to the Kazan audience: in the capital of the republic he created the iconic performances The Legend of Yusuf, Peer Gynt, Spartacus and a number of other productions. The Golden Horde by Georgy Kovtun is a striking example of a “grand style” performance. The choreographic language of ballet is based on classical technique with modern elements, complex supports and tricks. The performance perfectly embodied the distinctive features of the choreographer style of Georgy Kovtun - the desire to go beyond traditional genres and styles, the introduction of elements of acrobatics, circus, sports into the art of ballet, interest in folklore and national cultures, the ability to direct large-scale, populous performances, vivid entertainment ... The performance involves ballet dancers, choir, mimic ensemble of the theater, students of the Kazan choreographic school.
