Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova arrived in Kazan today. Immediately from the airport, she went to the Kazan Academic Russian Bolshoi Drama Theater named after Vasily Kachalov. Artistic director - theater director Alexander Slavutsky gave a tour of the theater. Olga Borisovna visited  rehearsal room,  craft shop,  ballet class of the theater. The Theater Museum aroused particular interest. The minister walked around two museum floors, was interested in exhibits related to the history of the theater and her great-grandfather.

A photo album reminiscent of the long-standing friendship between the theater and her family became a gift to the Minister of Culture. In 2005, the granddaughter of Vasily Ivanovich Kachalov, Maria Shverubovich, came to the opening of the world's only monument to Kachalov, together with her husband, a theater expert, rector of the Shchepkinsky School, Boris Lyubimov.
