n honor of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Kazan Art School, the National Art Gallery "Khazine" of the Pushkin Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan will open exhibitions of works from the collection of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the works of students and teachers of the KHU named after N. Feshina from the methodological fund of the school.
The Kazan Art School is a famous domestic educational institution that has become an exceptional phenomenon and played a key role in the history of the development of fine arts in the Kazan Territory and the Volga region of the country as a whole. In 2020, the school celebrates its 125th anniversary. Her legacy is unique and remains in constant demand by the younger generation of artists.
The collection of the Pushkin Museum of the RT contains works of the founders, teachers and students of the Kazan Art School. This extensive collection includes several hundred paintings and drawings, as well as a small number of sculptures. It presents samples of the creative manner of the founders of the school G.A. Medvedeva, Yu.I. Thyssen, I.A. Denisov, X. N. Skornyakov, as well as such outstanding artists-teachers and students as P.P. Benkov, D.D. Burliuk, P.I. Kotov, P.A. Radimov, V.K. Timofeev, P.M. Dulsky, sculptor V.S.Bogatyrev and many others.
For the anniversary exhibition, the restorers of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts prepared a number of works that have not been exhibited for many decades regarding their preservation. The renewed exposition was expanded by showing works by P. Radimov, V. Timofeev, P. Benkov, B. Urmanche, N. Feshin, Sh. Mukhametzhanov, a rich collection of pre-revolutionary drawings and engravings, as well as sculptures.
The tradition of cooperation of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and KHU named after N.I. Feshina has its deep roots, and the jubilee for KHU them. Feshin 2020 was no exception. The exhibition of works by students and teachers of the school called "Empathy" will present more than 120 diploma and term papers of college students in the process of study, as well as about 30 works of teachers. The emphasis in the selection of works was placed on works created over the past four decades from the 1980s to the 2020s. The school is an academic educational institution, the successor and continuer of the painterly realistic traditions of the Kazan art school, in connection with which the works presented are more related to the traditional realistic direction.
Visitors will be able to get acquainted with paintings, representing a historical retrospection and philosophical reflections of young authors, theatrical models, a kind of "cuisine" of a theatrical artist. Separately, drawings will be presented in various graphic techniques, arts and crafts in the form of products of artistic processing of leather and ceramics, as well as the work of students of the Department of Artistic Processing of Metal.
