An evening in memory of Sergei Govorukhin was held at the Mir cinema

The creative evening was marked by  premiere in Kazan of Sergei Govorukhin's feature film “Cursed and Forgotten” about the First Chechen War (1997). The show was held with the support of  Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation. The group "Afterword" was the initiator.

The film screening was held for the purpose of patriotic education of young people. Over the years, the film has collected many awards at international and Russian film festivals. Among the spectators were students of Kazan schools, representatives of the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Organization "OFFICERS OF RUSSIA" in the Republic of Tatarstan, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Damir Natfullin. The host of the evening is People's Artist of Russia and Tatarstan, Honorary Citizen of Kazan, Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Humanities Vadim Keshner.

The guests were addressed by: Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation, Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation Gennady Karyuk, Lieutenant Colonel, military officer, veteran of the special services Lenar Safin, artist-sculptor Elena Garshina At the end of the evening, the guests honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.

 

Reference: Sergei Stanislavovich Govorukhin (1961-2011) - war correspondent, film director, screenwriter and writer. Born September 1, 1961 in the family of film director Stanislav Sergeevich Govorukhin and Kazan actress Yunona Ilyinichna Kareva. He spent his childhood and youth in Kazan.

Sergei Govorukhin took part in hostilities in hot spots, lost a leg, was awarded the Order of Courage and other military awards. Author of collections of prose, director of the films "Essay on an outgoing theme", "Nobody but us ...", "The Land of People". Laureate of Russian and international film awards.
