Today the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan met with the Extraordinary Envoy and Plenipotentiary Minister of the Embassy of Japan in Russia

Today Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova met with the Extraordinary Envoy and Plenipotentiary Minister of the Embassy of Japan in Russia Aiki Toshihiro. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Damir Natfullin, heads of specialized departments, as well as the head of the Tatar-Japanese cultural and information Center "Sakura" Asiya Sadykova.

The parties discussed  development of Japanese-Tatarstan relations in the context of Russian-Japanese relations. Last year alone, within the framework of the cross-year of Japan in Russia and Russia in Japan, more than 600 events were held throughout the country, including more than 10 in Tatarstan.

Let us remind you that the festival "Days of Japanese Culture in the Republic of Tatarstan" started the day before as part of the Year of Japanese-Russian interregional and twin-city exchanges 2020-2021. A presentation of the Japanese-Tatarstan projection show "Tatara - the heritage of Eurasia" took place on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve. This is a joint project of the Japanese group "ORIENTARHYTHM" under the leadership of Sakakura Katsumi and the creative group from the Republic of Tatarstan "Tatar".

Also, the Days of Japanese Cinema will be held at the Mir cinema from 4 to 8 September. The program includes films that have received recognition at various international film festivals.

“I admire Japanese culture, the fact that you keep the meanings even in this modern, digital world” - admitted  Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and expressed her desire to continue cultural exchange. Mr. Aiki Toshihiro also expressed mutual interest.

At the end of the meeting, the parties warmly thanked each other and exchanged handshakes.
