More than 1 million visitors, 12 thousand exhibits and 21 projects: The Hermitage-Kazan Center celebrates its 15th anniversary
23 August marks the 15th anniversary of the opening of the Hermitage-Kazan Center, the first representative office of the State Hermitage in Russia. New exhibition projects of the Hermitage in Kazan are always an important and long-awaited event in the cultural life of the republic. Over 15 years, 21 exhibition projects have been organized within the walls of the museum, among them - “The Golden Horde. History and Culture ”,“ French Impressionists and Their Era ”,“ Russian Art in the Hermitage ”,“ Artistic arms ”,“ Images of Italy ”and many others. The exhibition center was visited by 1,280,000 people, more than 12,000 unique exhibits from the collection of the State Hermitage were presented to their attention.
On the occasion of the birthday, the staff of the Hermitage-Kazan Center have prepared a festive program. It included creative contests and classes, ticket raffles, sightseeing and thematic excursions, interactive programs and much more. The guests will be greeted by the Empress Catherine II herself, the founder of the Hermitage. Video greetings from leading cultural figures of Russia will be published on the website of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve and on the social networks of the Hermitage-Kazan Center, the organizers report.
