A model library is preparing to open in Vysokogorsky district

6 August 2020, Thursday

Last year, thanks to the successful participation in the competitive selection held by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Chernyshevskaya Rural Library - branch number 34 of the MBU "Vysokogorskaya TsBS" received financial support from the federal budget in the amount of five million rubles.

“Before starting  development of the model library project, we asked  residents what they would like to see here,” said Lilia Salimzyanovna, director of the Vysokogorsk Central Library System. - As a result, the space was divided into several zones: children's service; for a meeting of the  club of interests, reading books and periodicals; holding events; serving readers with disabilities, as well as parents with small children with strollers. In addition, they are planned so that different groups of visitors do not interfere with each other. Thanks to the national project "Culture", the village library for our residents will become a center for acquiring new knowledge, implementing creative ideas and intellectual leisure and communication "

The halls will be easily transformed, part of the shelving stands on movable wheels and, if necessary, they can be moved apart, making room for events.

As of today, current repairs have been completed in the building, workers are arranging furniture and setting up the Internet and Wi-Fi network. Thanks to the national project "Culture", the material and technical base of the library was replenished with 8 computers, several laptops and tablets with modern programs. Whereas earlier readers, and there are more than 700 of them here today, had to share one computer for all. The library will be connected to federal electronic and multimedia resources.

During the renovation, we did not forget about the comfort of people with disabilities. For them, at the entrance, a ramp and special boxes for people with limited mobility were installed.

The renovated library also has a bookcrossing shelf, where everyone can choose a book to their liking without registration, read it there, or take it home. By the way, this year the book fund will be updated by more than 2 thousand books and will be located in the public domain. On the first and second floors, there are racks with built-in seats. The library also has a conference room for 20 people, equipped with an interactive whiteboard. Thanks to it, employees will be able to use interesting forms of events in their work with children and adolescents: creative rings, literary karaoke, lectures, performances, etc.

Two library employees underwent distance learning organized by the Leninka corporate university, the Russian State Library and the Russian State Children's Library under the programs: “Creation of municipal model libraries within the framework of the national project“ Culture ”,“ Reading of modern children and adolescents: psychology, pedagogy, forms and methods of promotion ”.

The opening of the library is scheduled for early October.

We  remind  that in 2020, the transformations within the framework of the national project "Culture" will affect two more libraries: in the Spassky and Arsky regions. In 2019, model libraries were opened in the Zelenodolsk district on the basis of the Belobezvodnenskaya library and in the Kukmorsky district on the basis of the Asan-Elginsky rural library.

Reference: The Culture National Project was developed as part of the implementation of the Presidential Decree "On National Goals and Strategic Objectives of the Development of the Russian Federation for the Period until 2024", the implementation of which began on January 1, 2019. The national project "Culture" includes three federal projects: "Cultural Environment", "Creative People" and "Digital Culture". The curator of the national project is  Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko,  head is  Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.

Model libraries are intellectual centers equipped with high-speed Internet access, access to modern domestic information resources of scientific and artistic content, and to digitized collections of periodicals. They provide access points to the NEB, the acquisition of multimedia resources, as well as the creation of a modern and comfortable space where discussion clubs, counseling centers and lecture halls for all age groups will actively work. The collections of these libraries assume the availability of information presented in formats accessible to visually impaired people.
