Publishers, federal and regional bookstores, as well as well-known authors announce the start of a large-scale project - "Book Seasons". Its goal is to support readers all over Russia and inform that bookstores are ready for their return after a temporary pause. The first action within the framework of the project - "A Fairy Tale in the Book" - is aimed at children.
“Our main readers are, of course, children, of whom there are almost 33 million in the country. And this action is for them and their parents. The assortment of bookstores, on the eve of the beginning of the new academic year, includes time-tested classics and novelties of educational, fiction and popular science literature for children. These books will help the kids enjoying their summer and return to school with interest in September. I am sure that parents and teachers will appreciate all the possibilities of this action, and readers of all ages will again come to bookstores, ”says Sergei Stepashin, President of the Russian Book Union.
Especially for the campaign, publishers have selected top books for children and their parents. And the authors themselves will tell about them as part of the online marathon exclusively on the Yandex. Efir video platform. All videos will be collected on a special channel "Book Seasons" so that users can watch what they are interested in at any convenient time. From 6 to 8 August, writers will read excerpts from their works, psychologists, teachers, illustrators will hold master classes for children. Its task is to give recommendations to children and parents on reading, to mark important children's books of the current year.
During the promotion period, bookstores offer up to 30% discounts on children's books. In total, more than 20 leading children's publishing houses and more than 1,000 bookstores, including those located in the Republic of Tatarstan, will take part in the action. For example, the Lyubimy Knizhny chain, whose stores are open throughout the republic, announced its participation.
The organizers of the action are the Russian Book Union, the Book Industry magazine, the Association of Book Distributors of Independent States, and the Association of Russian Book Publishers. More than 1000 bookstores, 23 publishing houses, 30 popular authors - in 200 cities of Russia take part in the action.
