Volga Federal Okrug launches a new project - Street Art Festival "FormART"

The Street Art Festival "FormART"  has been   launched on the initiative of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov and is aimed at supporting the creativity of young artists, creating a modern urban environment and new cultural codes in the regions of the Okrug using graffiti art.

The main theme of the Street Art Festival 2020 is the value of the role of each person and unity in the fight against the new coronavirus infection "COVID-19". As part of the project, graffiti will be created in the regions of the district, revealing the theme of combating the coronavirus pandemic, the contribution of medical workers and volunteers to preserving the life and health of the population.

Professional street art artists and amateur artists aged 16 to 35, living in the Volga Federal Okrug, can become project participants.

To participate in the festival, you must submit an application through the website http://formartpfo.ru/. Acceptance of applications for the qualifying stage will last until August 7. The works will be evaluated by a competent jury - federal and regional experts, authoritative in the field of fine and street art, architecture and urban planning.

The finalists of the competition will have the opportunity to embody their artistic ideas on the walls of famous buildings in each region of the district, and will also be able to apply for grants for the further development of creativity in the amount of 50 to 100 thousand rubles.

Photos and videos of the process of creating works on objects of the urban environment will be posted on the project's website, and the winner of the festival will be determined by popular vote in October this year.
