The holiday traditionally began in the Lyadsky Garden of Kazan by laying flowers at the Derzhavin monument. The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan I.Kh. took part in the memorial ceremony. Ayupova, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan R.I.Zagidullin, Chairman of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on Education, Culture of Science and National Affairs A.R. Zaripov, Head of the Department of Culture and Development of Languages of Peoples of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan L.G. Nizamova, members of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Tajikistan, winners of last year’s prizes.
The celebration continued in Laishevo, in the native land of the great poet. Here, on the main square, which bears the name of the poet, after laying flowers at the Derzhavin monument, a solemn announcement of the winners of the Derzhavin Republican Prize took place. The winners of this year were voiced by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova and First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan A.G. Galimov.
So, the winner in the field of literature was Weiner Boris Grigorievich for the book “There is nowhere to fall an apple!” (poems and translations for children) and “Diamond Mountain” (Tatar fairy tales, play-tale). In his collection "There is nowhere to fall an apple!" included poems that are intended for children of preschool and primary school age, as well as their parents. Among these poems are translations of Tatar poets - Elmira Sharifullina, Akhmet Adil, Nakip Kashtanov. The prize winner in 2020 in the field of jurisprudence was Efremova Marina Aleksandrovna for the monograph “Criminal Legal Protection of Information Security”.
Due to the epidemiological situation, a limited number of people took part in the celebrations. The events were organized in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological standards.
The poetry festival was also held on social networks on the official accounts of the Writers' Union. In addition to Tatarstan writers, poets from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Udmurtia, Mari El, Moscow and other regions of Russia took part in the online flash mob. They read verses by Gabriel Romanovich in different languages, and also presented their works of authorship.
