On Russian Language Day, Rustam Minnikhanov laid flowers at the monument to Alexander Pushkin

The ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Alexander Pushkin in Kazan was attended today by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The event is dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the Russian Language and to the 221st anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin.

The monument to the great Russian poet is located near the building of the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. M. Jalil, in Freedom Square.

The flowers were also laid by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova, chairman of the board of the Russian national-cultural association of the Republic of Tatarstan Irina Aleksandrovskaya.

Russian Language Day is celebrated in accordance with the order of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan dated April 17, 2013 No. 182.

The implementation of these measures and their financial support are provided for in the state program "Implementation of the state national policy in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2014 - 2022".

In 2020, in connection with the sanitary and epidemiological situation, a decision was made to hold mass celebrations online. So, it is planned to broadcast a festive concert dedicated to the Day of the Russian Language and the 211st anniversary of the birth of A.S. Pushkin (TNV television channel), a video “Poetic relay race” was posted on social networks in which members of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan read excerpts from the works of A.S. Pushkin. Other events are also planned.
