Congratulation by Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova on the Republican holiday of the Mari culture "Semyk"

Tatarstan is a multinational republic. For centuries, not only Russians and Tatars have lived here, but also Mari, Chuvash, Udmurts, Ukrainians, and representatives of dozens of other nations. In Tatarstan, they believe that someone who honors  traditions of father and mother, knows his native language is happy, and therefore they do everything so that even when they are away from his  homeland, people feel the warmth of their home. And what warms the most? Of course, what positive emotions, holidays that are associated with! Holding traditional holidays of the indigenous peoples of our republic has already become a good tradition.

Dear Tatarstan people! I heartily congratulate you on the Republican holiday of the Mari culture "Semyk", which marks the beginning of summer and opens  summer holiday calendar.

Semyk is one of the most significant and beloved holidays of the Mari. It focuses on the rituals associated with the cult of ancestors, agriculture, family and marriage relations. This holiday has always contributed to the unity of the Mari residents  of the Republic of Tatarstan and the unity of kin groups.

This year, we, as the organizers, made a lot of efforts to create the atmosphere of this wonderful holiday under difficult conditions of anti-epidemiological restrictions, each young and old, has the opportunity, online to feel the spirit of Semyk, to get a lot of cognitive information. Well, next year we will meet at the Semyk-2021 holiday in the Aktanyshsky municipal district.

I sincerely congratulate you on this wonderful holiday, I wish you and your loved ones happiness, peace, kindness, prosperity, optimism in life and faith in the future.
