82 years ago, an event significant for the cultural life of the Republic of Tatarstan took place - the first concert of the TASSR Song and Dance Ensemble was held. This moment can rightfully be considered a step of the Tatar dance, song and musical culture into the big world.
The first years of the existence of the TASSR are notable for the fact that it was during this period that a large-scale work to preserve the national heritage began. Active work was carried out to collect folklore, and already in 1937 the State Philharmonic Society was created, where Tatar folk songs were recorded on plates. At the end of 1937, the first professional collective of the Republic, the TASSR Song and Dance Ensemble, was created as part of the Tatar State Philharmonic. Its founders - Zuleikha Akhmetova and Alexander Klyucharyov - believed in the great future of the collective. The ensemble of song and dance was to become a pioneer in the study and promotion of the best examples of folk dance and songwriting, to become a visiting card of the Republic and win the hearts of the audience of many countries. And the creative birth of the collective was his first concert, which took place on April 30, 1938 in honor of May Day. The first program of the ensemble was devoted to songs and dances of the peoples of the USSR.
