Tatarstan schoolchildren are invited to participate in a competition of creative works based on the works of Gabdulla Tukay

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republican Center for the Development of Traditional Culture, together with the Inter-regional public organization World Congress of Tatars, the public organization of Tatar women of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ak kalfak, and the Kazan College of Folk Art Crafts, conducts the XI All-Russian competition of creative works “Syukemle Shurule” - “Charming Shurale " based on the works by  Gabdulla Tukai.

The purpose of the contest is to identify the creative possibilities of children and youth, preservation and development of folk traditions in modern decorative and applied art.

The competition accepts works in the following categories:

  • "Embroidery";
  • "Weaving";
  • "Lace-making (bobbin)";
  • "The art of felt";
  • "Artistic processing of the skin";
  • "Patchwork";
  • "Stained glass painting"
  • “Folk toy: a sculpture of small forms of clay, straw, willow, textile, wood”;
  • “Artistic processing of wood: wood carving, inlay; products from birch bark, wood painting.

Students of grades 1–11 of municipal general educational organizations, private general educational organizations, participants in amateur associations of cultural and leisure institutions, and students of professional educational institutions (lyceum, school, college) of the Russian Federation are invited to participate in the competition

Each participant can submit no more than one work in each nomination. They will be evaluated by the following age groups:

  • Group 1: Grades 1-4 (7-10 years);
  • Group 2: Grades 5-8 (11-14 years);
  • 3 group: grades 9-11 (15-17 years);
  • Group 4: students of vocational educational institutions of children's art school, school of art.

Winners will be awarded with commemorative diplomas of the Laureate of the competition and souvenirs.
