The TourStat portal has published a rating of the best art museums of fine arts (Fine Arts) in Russia. The list was compiled based on the results of an analysis of the popularity of museums, offers of virtual tours and excursions, exhibitions and viewing of broadcasts of museums in social networks and Youtube channels.
The ten best art museums in the Russian regions was headed by the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts immediately follows, and the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum closes the top three. The Bashkir State Art Museum named after M.V. Nesterev. The top ten also enetered in Ufa, Primorsky State Art Gallery in Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk Art Museum named after V.I. Surikov in Krasnoyarsk, Chuvash State Art Museum in Cheboksary, Udmurt Republican Museum of Fine Arts in Izhevsk, Saratov State Art Museum named after A.N. Radishchev in Saratov and Ryazan State Regional Art Museum after I.P. Pozhalostina in Ryazan.
The Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum and the Pushkin Museum are recognized as the country's most popular art museums. In 2019, the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow was visited by 2.84 million people, the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg - 2.39 million, the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin in Moscow - 1.48 million.
