Young actors of the Teatralka studio of the Kazan Youth Theater will present the play «Children Over the Catcher»

12 March 2020, Thursday

Teatralka Studio for Teens is a social project of Kazan Youth Theater, which began its work in March 2018 and is implemented on a grant basis. The guys here are doing it for free.

The production is attended by 14 teenagers from large and low-income families aged 14 to 19 years, each of whom will tell the audience “his” story. According to young actors, “Children over the Catchaer” is a confession about indifference and cruelty, about responsibility and awareness, about the courage to be yourself in the world of standards and “likes”.

The basis of this work lay monologues from the works: "Tales Through the Stones" by O. Shirenov; poem “Whale” by A. Vasiliev (group “Spleen”); “Inhale exhale”, Y. Tupikina; "Scarecrow", V.Zheleznyakova; the poem “A Wacky Man” by A. Vasiliev (group “Spleen”); "Pinched", "This is all she" by A. Ivanov; B. Kiff; "Natasha’s dream" by Y. Pulinovich; the poem and prose “You Need” by V. Ponkin; “Russian Roulette” by Yu. Maksimov; "The Catcher in the Rye" by D. D. Salinger.

“What we ultimately put on the show is not the result of work, it is what really excites us, what we want to share,” said the studio teacher and director of the play Daria Khurtina. - In our classes, children rarely get phones, they usually charge them. For me, this is an indicator. They are much more interested in communicating with each other, freely expressing what is in their hearts, to share and be heard. And often fantastic discoveries and really important things happen. ”
