February 29 near the Family Center Kazan “ A Wide Maslenitsa " to be celebrated
The Russian National-Cultural Association of the Republic of Tatarstan invites all residents and guests of Kazan to the “ A Wide Shrovetide (Maslenitsa) ” holiday of winter farewell.
February 29, 2020 in Kazan will be held a festival of Slavic culture "Wide Maslenitsa". On the territory near the Kazan Family Center, a fair of products by masters of decorative and applied art will unfold. A festive concert will take place on the main stage of the festival with the participation of artists, creative groups, Russian folklore ensembles, as well as the Petrushka Theater. Kazan citizens and guests of the capital will be able to take part in the competitive program on ancient games and fun, attend workshops on folk dances and walking on stilts, on the manufacture of amulet dolls and commemorative coins.
An entertainment and game program with a prize draw, a competition of ditties was prepared for small residents. All guests of the holiday will be treated to a variety of pancakes, cakes and gingerbread cookies prepared according to old Russian recipes. At the end of the festivities, the effigy of Shrovetide will be burned.
The organizers of the holiday are the Russian National and Cultural Association of the Republic of Tatarstan and the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the City Hall of Kazan.
