November  30  – 2, II International poetic festival after N. Lobachevsky  takes place in Kazan. 

Organizers of the festival  -  RT Ministry of culture, RT union of writers, Fund for support of creative initiatives «Kanafer»,  Scientific  library after N. Lobachevsky of Kazan Federal (Volga) university, Cultural  center  «House –museum of V. Aksenov».

Poetry and mathematics considerably close to each other than it seems at first glance. Art lives  by laws of proportion and measure, mathematics without inspiration – simply a boring row of numbers. In our epoch of all penetrating synthesis,   we  offer «non-Euclid» poetic festival where like parallel right lines the ways of science and creativity, physics and lyrics, algebra and harmony  come across …   

Originality and perceptiveness of this project consists in synthesis of poetic and scientific foundations in format of one poetic –scientific forum, which enables to unite scientists and poets,  and continue tradition, developed still in times of N.I. Lobachevsky, to hold joint evenings  «Society of amateurs of Russian literature» in Kazan university at which sessions  the poems were read out  not only by poets and philologists but by mathematicians as well. It is known  that N.I. Lobachevsky also wrote verses and his favorite teacher Nikolai Ibragimov delivered lectures on philology and geometry,  and was an acknowledged poet, the author of verses to the song «A birch tree stood in the  field…».

Naturally,  that  namely in Kazan  – in a city with rich cultural, scientific and poetic  traditions bound with names of  Gavriil Derzhavin, Velemir Khalebnikov a festival appeared which will unite physics and lyrics, to check out  «algebra by harmony» (А.S. Pushkin).

The festival program includes   creative meetings with well-known poets of Russia and abroad: Vadim Mesyats  (Russia -USA), Lidia Grigoryeva  (UK ),Alexandr Navrotsky  (Poland), Evgeni Stepanov  (Moscow), Igor Panin (Moscow), Anastasia Ermakova  (Moscow), Dmitry Tonkonogov  (Moscow),Andrei Novikov (Moscow), Aleksei Ostudin  (Kazan), Alexandr Gerasimov  (Moscow), Maxim Glikin  (Moscow), Dmitry Chernyshev  (St. Petersburg), Marina Kulakova  (Nizhny Novgorod ), maya Sheremetova  (St. Petersburg),  literature critic  Elena Safronova  (Ryazan ) and others.

Kazan  will be represented by Russian and Tatar poets: Rkail Zaidulla,Djaudat Suleimanov, Eduard Ucharov, Nail Ishmukhametov, Vadim Gershanov, Boris Vainer, Yulduz Minullina, Ruzal Mukhametshin and others.

The important part of the festival  will be a scientific-practical conference  «Influence of non-Euclid geometry on art consciousness». Scientific-theoretical novelty of the conference’s problems is conditioned  by necessity of elaborating theoretical  interdisciplinary concepts.  A subject of debating at forthcoming conference  assumed, first of all, presentation of scientific, creative projects  on the  crossroad of philosophical, cultural, historical, natural-mathematical  and philological researches, approbation of original hypothesis, possibly, overtaking time like «non-Euclid geometry» of N.I. Lobachevsky.

Prominent mathematicians, philosophers, priests, poets, musicians, philologists   will speak out at the Roundtable  «Geometry of harmony».

Cultural program of the festival  includes  pedestrian walk  round the Kazan Kremlin, visiting Kul Sharif mosque, excursion to Kazan university museum  with attending N.I. Lobachevsly hall and much other…
