A solo concert by the Tatarstan’s State Song and Dance Ensemble on Thursday was with great success held in on the country’s main stage in the Kremlin Palace. The concert marked 75 years since the group’s foundation and was the first so grand event in the ensemble’s history. The group had prepared for it since the top of the year.
Tatarstan culture minister, Airat Sibagatullin, first welcomed the audience, artistes and ensemble management.
Thanking the audience for a warm reception, he read out a decree by the Russian culture minister, Vladimir Medinsky, to announce commendation to the Tatarstan’s Song and Dance Ensemble for a great contribution to the development of musical art, preservation and promotion of national cultural traditions and due to the 75th anniversary of foundation.
The minister went on to read out a welcoming address from President of Tatarstan, which read, in part:
“The foundation in 1937 of the Tatar State Philharmonics after Gabdulla Tukai and State Song and Dance Ensemble of Tatarstan was an important event. Over the past decades, the ensemble has evolved into a highly proficient group, whose creative work is focused on cherishing the national musical and choreographic traditions and great artistic taste.”
The prominent art figures, including composers Alexander Klyucharev, Mansur Muzafarov, Jaudat Faizi, Fasil Akhmedov; choreographers Faizi Gaskarov, Gai Tagirov, and others, have been closely related to the ensemble, the message reads.
Tatarstan’s State Song and Dance Ensemble is one of the oldest local creative groups, frequently performing with individual acts in Moscow at events, specific for Tatarstan, as well as at national events. The ensemble’s latest solo concerts in the capital took place in 2004 within the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic’s seasonal programme, as well as in 2011, within the Days of the Republic of Tatarstan.
