October 8, Great Russian Poetess Marina Ivanovna Tzvetaeva turns 120 years old (1892-1941)

This year we mark 120-anniversary of birthday of the great outstanding Russian poetess of XX century Marina Ivanovna Tzvetaeva .
Beginning of XX century – a dawn of thoughts and talents. Russian poetry experienced the second birth which later was called « A Silver Age ». V. Bryusov , A.Blok, N.Gumilev,A.Akhmetov , O.Mandelstam, M.Voloshin, I.Severyanin, S.Esenin , V.Mayakovsky and M Tzevtaeva wrote their best creations in this period .
As bright representative of silver age of Russian literature Marina Tzvetaeva left a considerable creative heritage : books of lyrical verses, 17 poems , 18 poetical dramas , autobiographical, memoir and historic-literature prose, philosophic critical poem. The poetess creates in its lyrics the image of strong ,persistent person, not recognizing imposed by somebody rules , independent and accustomed to be responsible for her acts.
Marina Ivanovana Tzvetaeva lived, all in all, fifty years - tragic half of century, in most hard period of Russian history : time of the world wars, two revolutions, civil war in Russia , setting totalitarian Soviet power, Stalin repressions .
So happened , in 1941, Marina Tzvetaeva, being in evacuation, spent last twelve days of her life in Elabuga, With tragic passing off of Tzvetaeva , Russia lost a real poet, a unique talent .
In 1980 in a home where the earthy way of Marina Tzvetaeva came to the end, Elabuga residents set first in Russia a memorable plaque of Tzvetaeva and in 1992 the Charitable fund named after M. Tzvetaeva . Literature museum of poetess opened. So in Elabuga for number of years a Memorial complex has been creating . It includes - square of Marina Tzvetaeva ,
Literature museum of M. Tzvetaeva , Home of memory of M. Tzvetaeva. Library of Silver age, Pokrovskaya church, Petropavlovskoye cemetery, Museum «Portomoinya », Café «Silver age». Thousand of lovers of her creativity used to come here, expressing their respect and admire . The city became a traditional place of holding of Tzvetaeva’s readings which have acquired an international status , International literature award named after Marina Tzevtaeva has been founded . Annually, music-literature, soirees, meetings with writers, poets , composers, concerts of chamber and author’s music are held in Elabuga state historic architecture and art museum.
Poetess of genius and tragic fate Marina Tzvetaeva has become an inseparable part of our culture and literature. We carefully keep all that is connected with the name of the great poetess .
