Congratulation by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova on the Day of the Baptism of Russia
Dear Orthodox Tatarstanians!
Please accept my sincere congratulations on the anniversary of the baptism of Russia.
This event occupies a special place in the history of our Fatherland, has not only religious, but also great cultural and historical significance. Conversion to Christianity had an invaluable influence on the spiritual and social development of our country, contributed to the formation of national values and landmarks. For centuries, they have served to preserve folk and historical traditions, have contributed to the strengthening of morality and unity in society.
In our multinational republic today, Christians, Muslims, Jews and representatives of other religions live in peace and harmony; Orthodoxy traditionally plays an important social and constructive role.
I am convinced that high moral principles laid down in Christianity will continue to contribute to strengthening stability in our multi-ethnic and multi-religious region.
I sincerely wish everyone on this festive day health, happiness and well-being, success in good deeds, the fulfillment of the brightest hopes, desires and thoughts.
