On June 1, in the village of Mari-Bulyar of the Muslyumovsky district, the celebration of the Mari culture Peledysh Semyk will be celebrated

On June 1, 2019 in the village of Mari-Bulyar of the Muslyumovsky municipal district, the Republican Mari holiday - “Peledysh Semyk” will be held.

Semyk is one of the most significant and favorite Mari festivals, traditionally opening a cycle of summer holidays. Its   main idea is to commemorate the deceased relatives and petition their blessings for good luck in economic affairs and in everyday life.

In 1990, this holiday received the status of a republican. June 1, everyone will be able to witness the traditional action with its features and color. On this day, several sites will work and a variety of master classes will be held: on pottery, Mari embroidery, wicker weaving, cooking traditional Mari food “Komna Melna” (pancakes), etc. Guests will be able to participate in sports and national Mari games . There will be a playground for children. In addition, all participants of the festival will be able to visit the “Rural Compound”, where the exhibition and sale of products of masters of decorative and applied art will be held.

The Mari musical and dance culture will be presented by the best folklore groups from 12 regions of the republic, as well as the Kirov region. Traditionally, the program of the festival includes contests "Chever Mari Ydyr" (female beauty contest) and "Mari Patyr" (male power), where all participants and participants will compete for knowledge of the language, traditions, customs, history and cultural heritage of the Mari people.
