In the framework of the Year of the Theater in the Kazan Academic Russian Bolshoi Drama Theater named after V.I. Kachalov in April-June the International Theater Festival "Europe-Russia-Asia" will be held.
The Kazan audience will be presented works by directors from Germany, Russia and China.
The festival will be opened by artists from German Hanover. On April 3 and 4, on the stage of the Kachalovsky Theater, the troupe will present the play “Without Change on the Western Front” based on the world-famous novel by Erich-Maria Remarque directed by Lars-Ole Valburg. Tickets are already on sale.
The festival will continue in June. On June 4 and 5, the St. Petersburg Theater “Baltic House” will present Shakespeare's “Macbeth” in the interpretation of one of the most famous European directors Luke Perceval.
The Russian part of the festival will be continued by a tour of a young but already recognized theater group - the Moscow “Theater Studio” under the direction of Sergey Zhenovach. One of the best contemporary directors, who is now heading the Moscow Chekhov Art Theater, will present his three performances with his students on June 12, 13, 15, 16, 18 and 19: Three Sisters, Notebooks A. P. Chekhov and the “Suicide” by N. Erdman.
The culmination of the forum will be its “Asian part”. The play “Li Bai” will be brought to Kazan by the Beijing National Arts Theater. The performance from China can be viewed on June 27, 28, 29.
