Traditional gala concerts by the State Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Republic of Tatarstan will take place in Kazan

On December 12 and 14, 2018, traditional gala concerts of the State Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Republic of Tatarstan will be held in Kazan. Artists will present the new program “Halkybyznyn Miras” (“People’s Heritage”), which includes both new vocal compositions and productions in modern choreography, as well as well-well-known numbers loved by the public.

In connection with the repair work at the Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil, the traditional December concerts of the State Ensemble will be held not on this familiar stage, but on the stage of the Theater after G. Kamal (December 12 at 19.00) and at the Cultural-Leisure Complex  after V.I. Lenin (December 14 at 18.30).

The first part of the concert, composed of the golden fund of the ensemble, will be dedicated to the founders of the group - the 100th anniversary of the first soloist, Honored artist of the TASSR, the legendary Tatar singer Raziya Timerkhanova (1918-1997) and the 95th anniversary of the birth of one of the artistic directors of the ensemble, composer Azgar Abdullin (1923-1993). Famous compositions “Sakmar su”, “Allyuki”, “Erbet”, “Kara urman”, “Chalyshtyru” and others will be performed. One of the items will be dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the current choirmaster, People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Venera Garayeva.

In the second part, new, recently created compositions will be presented to the public. The premiere of the choreographic composition “Round Dance” will be presented by chief choreographer of the ensemble, Honored Artist of Russia Railia Garipova and popular composer Radik Salimov. A successful creative tandem has already pleased viewers with such productions as “Silver Bracelet” and “Tatar Spring”. As Railia Garipova told, this time they did not turn to Tatar folklore of a certain historical period or geography, but decided to present a Tatar dance with elements of modernity. Experimental interpretation should bring to modern spectators  all the beauty and elegance of the Tatar dance. The program also includes the premieres of the numbers «Yullyk» (choreography by Khalil Izhberdin), «Yana Kazan», «Yalovo Avyl Koye», «Tatars» (dances of different ethnographic groups of Tatars), the vocal and choreographic suite «Friendship»  by Laysan Khametova representing the creativity of different nations inhabiting our country. For the performance of new compositions, the artists of the orchestral, choral and dance groups of the ensemble sew new costumes from velvet and silk, including using Tatar national embroidery and ornaments. In total, the troupe will use more than 200 different costumes during the concert.

The program of concerts in the theater named after Kamal and the CLC named after Lenin is identical, with minor changes.

During the year we gave more than 60 concerts in various parts of the world - in Cannes, Abu Dhabi, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Belarus, in the cities of Siberia and the Urals, but in reality our main concerts of the year will be performances in our native capital. For Kazan, we always prepare the best, we try our best to show all the beauty and power of the State Ensemble of Song and Dance, ”said  artistic director of the group, People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Khametov.
